Snow Geese (Aunt Blanche’s Song)
PLAY SONG
Verse 1
The funeral’s over,
the committal has begun
We walk by tombstones,
one by one
The preacher reads words
that make us readjust,
Saying “Ashes to ashes
and dust to dust.”
Verse 2
We stand there waiting
for what comes next
We stand there feeling
quite perplexed
This is our loved one’s
resting place
The life she lived
will never be erased
Verse 3
She loved birds, dolls
and all little things
But now that she’s gone,
what will life bring?
The graveside service
has come to an end
All we can do is
just say “Amen.”
Refrain (Sing Twice)
Then up in the air,
what did appear?
White Snow Geese in a sky,
cold and clear
Two V-formations
paying homage and respect,
To our Aunt Blanche
who lived without regret
Repeat Verse 1 & Refrain
